How often should I clean my carpet?
Ideally, you should clean your carpets every 12 to 18 months to help extend the life of the carpet. However, above the appearance of the carpet, health and well being should be your top priority. A clean carpet is a healthy environment for your family.
How long will it take for my carpet to dry?
The standard drying time is 6 to 8 hours. Carpet in some areas will remain damp into the second day and beyond depending on how soiled the carpet was and how well ventilated the house is. Open windows and fans greatly reduces the drying time.
My objective is to get the carpets as clean as possible with the drying time being secondary. Many times the carpet is almost dry by the time I have finished. Because some carpets need more work, the drying time can be extended but never left wet - only damp to the touch.

What about pet door from urine?
Pet odor from urine not only affects the carpet, it can also affect the carpet pad, tac strips, baseboards, subfloor and even concrete foundations.
Most of you will NOT have the above conditions, therefore your carpets may be treatable with enzymes that will help rid the odor causing bacteria and urine. Odor control and removal is often an uphill battle. A good cleaning may reduce or solve most problems.

What are those black lines that I see around the baseboards and edges?
You may have seen these dark lines that appear around the very edges of carpets. The term used here is called "Soil Filtration". Air movement from heating vents and the opening and closing of doors causes particles of soil to come to rest at the edges of the carpet. In addition, there may be gaps between the wall and floor where air and soil are coming in from under the house.
These lines begin to show up 6 to 8 years after a carpet has been installed. They are very difficult to remove if at all. There are special products for this that seem to help, but for the most part they are beyond carpet cleaning service and impossible to remove.
